Dr. Monica G. Flippin Wynn is an Associate Vice President at the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education. Prior to joining the Institute staff in October 2019, Monica was Associate Professor and Director of undergraduate and Interim Director of graduate communication programs at Lindenwood University and she served as Associate Professor of Mass Communications at Jackson State University
Dr. Flippin Wynn’s current research projects include student engagement and new media, online equity and post-secondary education, examining how new modes of communication are incorporated into academia and investigating the mainstream educational paradigms to promote erasing the disparities of race, health disparities, mentoring in academia, ageism, human interaction and accurate and positive media portrayals, storytelling and the art and song styling of Princes Rogers Nelson.
Dr. Flippin Wynn earned her PhD in Communications from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, a Master of Science from the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater, and her undergraduate degree from Southern University. She began her employment at the Gardner Institute on October 1, 2019.
