Retention Performance Management®

A process to create and implement an evidence-based plan for improving student retention and completion rates.

I. WHAT IS RETENTION PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT? 

Focus on shared decision-making. This is a task force-based assessment model. The broad involvement of faculty, staff, and students in your structured planning and implementation processes improves both institutional commitment to the plan and the student success outcomes of the plan.

Since beginning in the fall of 2014 over 30 colleges and universities have opted to participate in the Retention Performance Management process.

II. WHAT ISSUES DOES IT ADDRESS?

Retention Performance Management addresses a variety of common challenges often associated with retention and completion of higher education.

Retention Performance Management is designed using the Gardner Institute’s task force-based assessment model. The broad involvement of faculty, staff, and students in the structured planning and implementation processes bodes well for improving student success in environments that value shared decision making.

III. HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our services are adaptable and comprehensive.

Retention Performance Management addresses the full continuum of retention and completion planning including the collection and analysis of data to create a plan (Analyze and Plan) and the implementation and continuous evaluation of a plan (Act and Monitor). Making use of the following, you’ll work with our student success experts to build and implement a highly effective retention plan.

Institutions may participate in one or both phases and/or include an optional visit, based on your needs. We reserve the right to conduct a virtual visit or charge an additional fee for a visit to institutions outside the contiguous US.

IV. FEES & APPLICATION

Retention Performance Management fees vary based on undergraduate unduplicated enrollment.
